It may seem like steampunk science-fiction but it's true! You can actually use your smartphone to make genuine silver gelatin darkroom prints using our traditional photographic enlargers in the Morean Darkroom. Our resident film photography guru Lance Rothstein will teach this one-day, crash-course workshop, walking you through the method. Any color or B&W digital photo can be enlarged on traditional B&W, light-sensitive photo paper.
The newest mobile phones with high-resolution displays, offer the best results but just about any phone will work. You can also transfer your digital images to the instructor's phone to ensure the best quality. We'll be printing 5x7 photos (great for holiday cards) as well as 8x10" enlargements. Each participant will make at least 3 prints. AND, once you've mastered this technique, you can use it to make your own photos in our darkroom during future Open Darkroom Sessions, offered throughout the week.
